Detoxification
DETOX
Sunshine Sober Living does not provide detox. We are a structured sober living residence in Tarzana, California, and our admissions team offers detox referrals: if you or a loved one needs detox first, we help connect you with licensed California treatment facilities and Joint Commission-accredited facilities, in California and beyond. Call 866-216-9789, 24 hours a day.
What does a detox referral from Sunshine Sober Living include?
A detox referral is admissions guidance, not treatment: we talk through your situation in confidence and help you reach a detox provider that fits. Detox itself is delivered by the licensed treatment facility you are referred to, never at our residence.
- First contact. You, a family member or a referring professional calls 866-216-9789, emails info@sunshinesoberliving.com or requests a confidential assessment.
- Confidential conversation. Our admissions team, led by Wendy Goldberg, Founder and Director of Admissions, discusses the person’s recovery situation, current stage and support needs.
- Level of care. If a higher level of care is needed first, we refer to appropriate providers for detox, residential rehabilitation or an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
- Insurance verification. Insurance can be checked through the Verify Insurance section on our contact page. Coverage is never guaranteed.
- Structured living afterwards. When structured transitional living is appropriate, the person can move into our substance-free residence, with house expectations, rules and accountability explained.
Who are detox referrals for?
Detox referrals are for adults who need help finding a detox provider, and for the families, clinicians, interventionists and discharge planners making the call on their behalf. Our residence welcomes men and women aged 21 and over, including people with co-occurring conditions, who are committed to long-term recovery.
What happens after detox?
After detox, the next step depends on the person; recovery pathways are individual. Our admissions team can also refer to residential rehabilitation or IOP. For adults ready for structure before fully independent living, our structured transitional living combines substance-free housing with accountability groups, open recovery meetings, meditation and yoga, music and art therapy, career mentoring and job-search support, while residents stay connected to work, school, family, outpatient care and local recovery meetings.
Where is Sunshine Sober Living, and which areas do you serve?

We serve Tarzana, Woodland Hills, Encino, Sherman Oaks, West Hills, Calabasas, Reseda and the wider San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles area, and our referral relationships extend throughout California and beyond.
